Woman in her 20s taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Crumpsall

A woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Crumpsall.

Police and the ambulance service were called to Station Road, near to the Crumpsall Metrolink stop, on Tuesday.

A woman, aged in her 20s, was left suffering with a head injury after being struck by a Hyundai Comfort.

She was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

A police spokesman said her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "It was a collision between Hyundai Comfort and pedestrian.

"We were called by ambulance service at 7.07pm to Station Road, Crumpsall."

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.04pm yesterday evening.

Several ambulances were called to the collision (Gusto King)

"We have attended with an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, ambulance paramedic and the air ambulance vehicle.

"A female in her late 20s has been taken to hospital.

"She was taken to the major trauma centre with a head injury."
