A woman in her 20s is in "critical condition" after falling from a balcony at a Merseyside nightclub.
Merseyside Police confirmed that they were called at 2.55am today (Sunday, September 4) to Hey Amigos nightclub on West Street in Southport where a woman is reported to have fallen from a "balcony" and is currently in critical condition in hospital.
One person told the ECHO that the nightclub was emptied at around 3am and that they believed the incident had taken place in the smoking area of the venue.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We were called to reports over concern for safety at around 2.55am after a woman fell from a balcony.
"A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital where she is in a critical condition. Officers remain at the scene and we're not looking for anyone in connection to the incident."
Hey Amigos declined to comment.
