A body of a woman in her 20s was found in a Liverpool flat over the weekend, police have today confirmed.
Officers were called to an address on Marlborough Street, in the city centre, at 9.30pm on Saturday following reports that a woman had been found dead.
A number of police vehicles, including a forensic team, were pictured parked on Vauxhall Road on Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Witnesses close to the scene described seeing a large police presence in and around the flats.
Police have described the death as "sudden" and "non suspicious", and police are now preparing a file for the coroner.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Marlborough Street at 9.30pm on Saturday following the sudden non-suspicious death of a woman in her 20s.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
