Woman in disbelief after stranger handed her warning note while on a date in cafe

Heading out on a date for the first time is a venture into the unknown.

And if on your own, you don't have the support of a pal telling you to leave or that they're not the one in the first instance.

But one woman found a stranger to be her hero after he came to her rescue while sat next to him during her date in a coffee shop.

The woman, called Hadia, shared her unfortunate experience online - and posted a note the coffee shop man handed her while her date was in the bathroom.

Her tweet with a picture of said note has since gone viral on Twitter, racking up thousands of comments and hundreds of thousands of likes.

Many have hailed the man for his quick-thinking and for taking the initiative to alert her without making a scene, the Mirror reports.

Hadia posted: "I had coffee with a guy yesterday. When he went to the bathroom, the gay guy sitting behind me passed me this note."

The note said: "Too many red flags. Run. Be safe girl."

The note Hadia was given (@Hadia__S/Twitter)

Hadia then went on to share more details of her date to add a bit of context, explaining they didn't "see eye to eye" on controversial rapper DaBaby among other things.

"I recognized the red flags, but I wasn’t in danger, so I stayed, because of course I had to debate him," she added. "I’m sure my guardian angel was exhausted and was like "B****, LEAVE!"

Hadia ended her story: "There were a few other GLARING red flags that I won’t mention, but don’t worry, I would have recognized them with or without the note.

"But the note was greatly appreciated and added some laughs to my night. There won’t be a second date."

On Twitter, one person replied: "I can't help but wonder how bright red those flags were for a complete stranger notice AND write a warning note. Big yikes."

Another said: "If I got that note I'd have immediately given him the 'appreciate it' head nod and ended the date early. Nobody is going to see a man's red flags faster than another man."

"Hey, he’s protecting women. Love to see it," a third added.

A fourth said: "Finally, a tweet that gives me hope in humanity. There are nice people out there looking out for others."
