Woman in critical condition after being hit by cyclist while walking

A pedestrian is in hospital in a critical condition after a crash with a cyclist.

Police have said that the female pedestrian suffered a serious head injury in the crash and is currently in a critical, but stable condition.

The crash happened on Gloucester Road at the junction with Zetland Road at around 10.20pm on Wednesday this week.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We’re appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian on Gloucester Road, Bristol on Wednesday (December 8).

"The incident happened at around 10.20pm at the junction with Zetland Road.

"The female pedestrian suffered a serious head injury and is currently in hospital in a critical but stable condition. Her family are aware.

"If you saw what happened or hold dashcam footage of the collision, please contact 101 and quote reference 5221288568."

In other news, a person has been taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash on the M32 last night.

The motorway was temporarily shut outbound at 10.15pm while emergency services attended the crash.

In a statement, the force said the person's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
