A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who died following a broad daylight New Year's Day attack.
Stephanie Bowie, 26, is alleged to have knifed Darren Russell, 21, to death in Erskine, Renfrewshire.
Prosecutors claim she "did stab him on the body with a knife or similar bladed article and did murder him" in the town's Park Drive, near to Park Moor.
She also faces a second charge that she attacked Russell "on an occasion prior to and distinct from" the murder.
It's alleged that, in the town's Park Moor, near to Barsail Primary School, she and her 18-year-old brother, Mark Bowie, assaulted Mr Russell by punching and kicking him on the head and body.
Mark, who has also been charged with assault, also faces a second charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Prosecutors claim he "did hide a white and black jacket belonging to Stephanie Bowie under a bed, knowing that the same had been worn by her when she assaulted Darren Russell, now deceased, with a knife and did murder him" in an "attempt to conceal said jacket from the authorities."
Darren, who was known to pals as Dazza, passed away in his home street at around 12.55pm on January 1, 2020.
The case against Stephanie called at Paisley Sheriff Court this afternoon.
She appeared in court via video link from Cathcart Police Station.
She made no plea to the two charges against her during the behind-closed-doors hearing, where she was represented by defence solicitor Amy Spencer.
Mark appeared in court in person and made no plea to the two charges he faces.
Sheriff David Pender continued the case against the Bowies for prosecutors to investigate further and remanded them in custody.
No future court dates have been set, but the pair are expected to face second hearings in court next week.
