A 30-year-old man has been charged after a woman was hospitalised after being allegedly assaulted in Redfern, Sydney.
On Saturday, at about 4.30pm, emergency services responded to an address on Morehead Street, Redfern, following reports of an alleged domestic violence assault.
When they arrived, a 47-year-old woman was found inside the home with head injuries.
The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance critical care paramedics before she was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in critical condition.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Mascot Police station, where he’s since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent (DV).
He has been refused bail and is set to appear in Parramatta Local Court later today.
Police have confirmed that the man and woman are known to each other, and that the woman is still in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in critical condition.
