Woman 'horrified' as banking blunder makes her a billionaire as she draws out £14 cash

A stunned woman said she was "horrified" when she found a banking blunder had nearly made her a billionaire.

Julia Yonkowski was drawing out cash when she realised there was a massive $999,985,855.94 in her account - the equivalent of nearly £720 million.

Julia, from Largo in Florida, had no idea she was the 615th richest person in America - and is desperate to return the massive amount of cash.

But she said no one from her bank is returning her calls, despite her desperation to get rid of the money.

Julia told WFLA : "Oh my God, I was horrified. I know most people would think they won the lottery but I was horrified.

Julia discovered her bank balance was just shy of $1 billion (WFLA)

"When I put in for the $20, the machine came back and said we’ll give you the $20 but that’ll cause an overdraft and you will be charged and I said oh just forget it."

But when she checked her balance, she had a massive shock.

Julia said: "I know I’ve read stories about people that took the money or took out money, and then they had to repay it and I wouldn’t do that anyway because it’s not my money.

"It kind of scares me because you know with cyber threats. You know I don’t know what to think."

It is not known how the money came to be in her account, but Julia is desperate to get rid of it as quickly as possible.

Her bank, Chase, is yet to comment on how the error came about.
