A shocking video shows a Merseyside Police officer being assaulted by a woman while he attempts to arrest a man.
The incident took place on Breckfield Road South, not far from the Breck Road Asda Superstore.
The video shows the woman, in a bright orange gym top, run to aid the man being arrested.

She is seen pushing a member of the public who then falls to the floor and covers his face.
Throughout this time the woman is heard screaming incomprehensibly.
She is then seen grabbing the police officer around the neck from behind.
During this time the man, who the police officer was attempting to restrain, left the scene after being shouted at to "run."
The woman then proceeds to drag the officer to the floor and hold him in a headlock while two other men attempt to remove her grip.
Once the officer is free, he leaves the scene in pursuit of the man he was attempting to restrain.
The woman is then held to the ground by another man as she screams at him to "let me go."
Officers have arrested a man and a woman following reports of theft and violence in Everton on Tuesday 9 November.
At around 1pm, officers detained a man who had allegedly been shoplifting in Asda, The Mall, Everton and assaulted security guards at the location, resulting in serious injuries.
The man also reportedly assaulted an officer before attempting to run off.
He was detained hiding in a bush nearby.
A 33-year-old man from Anfield was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault; theft from a shop; assault of an emergency worker; obstruct/resist a constable; and breach of a retraining order.
He was conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
During this incident, a woman reportedly ran over and assaulted a member of the public nearby, causing a facial injury, and assaulted an officer.
A 31-year-old woman from Everton was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH; assault of an emergency worker; and obstruct/resist constable.
She was released under investigation.
Inspector Sarah Rotherham, Merseyside Police said: “Both people arrested will now be subject of an investigation and we are fully supporting the welfare of the officer attacked and the security guards, all of whom showed bravery and determination to detain these suspects.
“Officers and security staff have to deal with violence and challenging situations on a daily basis, and to hear someone filming, sharing and getting some kind of amusement from watching street violence is particularly disheartening.
“Always call 999 if a crime is in progress and we will act swiftly to keep those businesses and residents in our community safe.”
