Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said to the ECHO : “This was a needless and violent altercation between two men that has left a woman with a serious facial injury and could have endangered the lives of workers and others in the club.

“We will not tolerate such violence in our community that could affect the safety of people simply enjoying a night out or trying to get home and we are working to find more evidence about this incident.

“If you were at the night club or on Eberle Street in the early hours of Saturday morning and witnessed the incident, then please let us know.

“Similarly if you captured any mobile phone footage when you were at or near the club of the incident please contact us. Any information you hold could be vital to our ongoing enquiries.”
