Woman hit round with head 'with weapon' in house attack

A woman was found with head and hand injuries after being attacked at a house in Liverpool.

The victim has been taken to hospital after being found injured when emergency services rushed to the property in Tavy Road, Everton last night.

Police said early indications suggest the woman was struck with some form of weapon.

A 40-year-old man who police say is known to the victim has been arrested over the attack which happened around 10.25pm last night.

Police said the woman's injuries are not life-threatening and she has received treatment in hospital.

A Merseyside Police said: "At around 10.25pm, emergency services were called to an address on Tavy Road to a reported assault inside the property.

"A woman was found with head and hand injuries which are not life-threatening, and was taken to hospital."

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson added: "A 40-year-old man from Liverpool - who is known to the victim - was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and has been taken to a police station for questioning."
