Police are now renewing the appeal for anyone with dashcam or doorbell videos in that South Gloucestershire street to come forward, as they are still trying to piece together what happened.

The incident happened at 1pm on Friday, July 15 in Birdwood in Hanham. The woman was struck by the red Royal Mail van and the driver of the van remained at the scene with the woman until emergency services arrived.

"The woman was taken to hospital where she sadly died on Friday 22 July," a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said today, Wednesday, July 27. "We have informed the next of kin and they are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"Anyone who witness the incident, or have dashcam or doorbell footage which could aid the investigation, is asked to contact 101 and quote reference number 5222168573.," she added.
