Woman hit by car rushed to hospital as police shut road

A woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Police were called to reports of a crash on Ridgewood, Lever Causeway in Storeton at around 9.30am today.

Lever Causeway was closed in both directions while police dealt with the incident and multiple emergency service vehicles were in attendance, including police and ambulance.

A woman, the pedestrian involved in the crash, was taken to hospital with injuries to her leg and arm.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service also confirmed they were called at around 9.20am today to a crash involving a pedestrian.

They added that a woman was taken to hospital with leg and arm injuries.

Incident on Levers Causeway, Bebington (Liverpool Echo)

The spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "It was an RTC involving a pedestrian. We were called at 9.20am.

"A woman was taken to hospital with leg and arm injuries."

The road has since reopened following the incident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 9.30am today (Monday, January 24) officers were called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Ridgewood, Lever Causeway in Wirral.

"A woman was taken to hospital with injuries to her arm and leg.

"Ridgewood was closed whilst emergency services were at the scene and has since reopened."
