Woman hit by car in crash on Edinburgh road as man charged over incident

A man has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle crash on a Scots road.

The incident occurred on Forrest Road, Edinburgh at around 6.50pm on Wednesday August 18.

A black Vauxhall Corsa collided into a parked gold-coloured Peugeot 308 while a 26-year-old female driver was exiting.

She was hit as a result and taken to hospital for treatment as was the 23-year-old male driver of the Corsa.

He was later charged in connection with the incident.

The extent of their injuries and their current conditions remain unknown.

Police Scotland officers are now keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet been in touch with them.

They are particularly appealing for a female doctor, possibly a GP, who provided assistance at the scene prior to police arrival, to come forward.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident no. 3098 of Wednesday August 18.
