Woman hit by car during Wishaw street disturbance involving group of men

A woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car during a disturbance in a Wishaw street.

Police were called to Earn Crescent around 1.45pm on Monday (April 29) amid reports of a disturbance involving a group of men prior to the woman being injured.

Emergency services attended and took the woman to Wishaw General Hospital - staff there say they do not believe her injuries to be life-threatening.

Officers are trying to establish the full circumstances of what happened, anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Kenny Dalrymple from Wishaw CID said: “We are continuing our investigation today and it is vital that anyone who witnessed what happened gets in touch.

“The disturbance took place in the middle of a busy residential area and people will have seen or heard something.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Wishaw CID via 101, quoting incident number 1965 of Monday 29 April 2019.

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
