Woman 'heard her bones crunch' as evil ex-boyfriend ran her over with truck

A woman has described how she heard her bones crunching as her evil ex-boyfriend ran over with his truck.

San Juanita Herrera, 41, was ploughed down by her 72-year-old boyfriend Rogelio Alberto Guardado after the pair argued.

After running her over, he then turned his Nissan Frontier van around to drive over her a second time.

Guardado, 69 at the time, ran over her a total of four times during the attack in Houston, Texas.

After pleading guilty as part of a deal, he has now been sentenced to 20 years in prison at his trial that ended last week.

San Juanita was left fighting for her life in hospital, but was able to tell police what had happened on the evening of September 11, 2016.

She suffered a shattered pelvis, two broken legs, broken ribs, head trauma along with other injuries -leading to a two month stay in hospital.

After leaving hospital, she spent two years in a wheelchair.

Police arrested Guardado eight days after the attack, reports ABC13 .

Assistant District Attorney Nicci Campbell said: "She told about how this was someone she loved, someone she trusted and how bad things got after they broke up.

"She told about hearing her bones being crushed under the tires and seeing her own blood on the ground. Her body was essentially severed in half."

District Attorney Kim Ogg said: “He tried to kill her and she wouldn’t die.

“Domestic violence fuels our murder rate. We are lucky she was strong enough to survive this horror.”

Guardado must serve 10 years in jail before he is eligible for parole.
