Woman had clumps of hair pulled out in Newcastle city centre bar attack

An investigation is under way after a woman was attacked in a Newcastle city centre bar.

The assault took place inside The Waiting Rooms pub at around midnight on December 8 last year.

The 35-year-old female victim sustained bruising to their ribs, face and legs as well as having clumps of hair pulled out during the attack.

Officers say they have now exhausted all other lines of enquiry and are appealing to the public for any information.

They have now released CCTV images of a woman they need to trace in connection.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Enquiries into the incident in question are ongoing and police have now released an image of a woman they need to trace.

"She was in the bar at the time of the incident and could have information that can assist police with their investigation.

"The woman, or anyone who knows her, should contact police on 101 quoting log 306 091219.

"You can also report information online at the Northumbria Police or email the investigating officer on 2433@northumbria.pnn.police.uk."
