The two men who grabbed the woman ran off when joggers approached the scene, police say.

A woman has been grabbed by two men and forced to the ground near Adelaide's River Torrens, South Australian police (SAPOL) have said.

Officers said the attempted abduction happened about 7.45pm on Monday.

They said a woman was walking west on the northern side of the River Torrens footpath, on Adelaide's War Memorial Drive, near a restaurant car park, when she was grabbed by the arms by two unknown men dressed in business suits, who forced her to the ground.

SAPOL said the victim yelled for help and the two men who had grabbed her ran off when two joggers approached.

Police appealed for the joggers and anyone else who saw what happened to contact them.

The woman was not injured.

The first suspect was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40s, between 165cm – 175cm tall, a slim build and with dark brown hair.

The second suspect was described as being of Asian appearance, aged in is early 30s and had short dark hair.

Police said a white car, possibly a Toyota Camry, was seen parked in a nearby restaurant car park at the time of the attack.
