Woman grabbed by hair and pushed to floor in assault on Glasgow train

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted on a Glasgow train.

The incident occurred at 11.04pm on Saturday July 13, between Glasgow Central and Hillington West and was reported to the British Transport Police on Sunday, August 11.

The victim, who is in her 30s, boarded the train with two other people.

During the journey, she was attacked by a woman who was part of a large group. She was grabbed by the hair and pushed to the floor.

A man in the group was heard telling the suspect to attack the victim, saying: “kick her head in”. 

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 4, approximately 19 years old with long black hair and a slight build. She was wearing a black bra top and black leggings.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows the identity of the suspect, is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference number 520 of 11/08/19. Alternatively to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
