Woman grabbed and thrown to floor by attacker as she walked in Ely

A woman was grabbed and thrown to the floor by an attacker as she walked in Cardiff.

The 27-year-old woman was walking around Archer Road recreation ground, in Plymouth Woods, Ely, at around 10am on Monday when she was grabbed by the unknown person.

She screamed for help and the individual, believed to be wearing a rain jacket and gloves, ran off.

South Wales Police are investigating and have been carrying out extra patrols. Officers have also searched the area.

A spokesman said: "The woman is very distressed by this incident and we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward."

They said no further details about the attacker's description are available at the moment.
