A woman was gored by an enraged bull that went on the rampage after escaping a fighting ring.
Dozens of spectators fled in panic as the animal smashed through a wooden fence and ran up several steps of a concrete stand during a fight in Trang, southern Thailand yesterday afternoon.
It ran amok before charging towards Khun Nam, 57, who was cowering on the ground, and then goring her with its 30cm horns.
Video footage shows the massive creature turn its head towards the terrified female spectator before pinning her against the fence.
She fell down as the bull - which had been pitted against another animal - relented and walked down the stand before he was captured by venue staff.
The victim was taken to hospital after receiving first aid at the scene.
She suffered an inch long cut below her right eye brow but was otherwise unharmed.
Fellow spectator Anutin Wattana says people attend bull fights in the region to place bets on which animals will win.
He has urged organisers to strengthen fences to prevent it happening again.
"There were two bulls that escaped from the ring during the day, which means that the fences were too weak to keep the animals inside," he said.
"One of the bulls ran away after it broke loose but another one rammed into the audience.
"Fortunately the woman was only slightly injured but the organisers should really be concerned about the safety."
