Anyone with an overprotective parent will definitely relate to the tweet that Caitlin Wren wrote on 13 September.
Sharing a photo of a text message from her mum, Caitlin said:
""Night in Edinburgh with my boyfriend and my mum thinks I’m still 12 :/"
The message was a reaction to a photo of a fancy Edinburgh hotel room that Caitlin had shared - with a double bed and a small couch in the corner.
Her mum said:
"Shame Dean has to sleep on the couch. At least it's not the floor. Told you to make sure it was a twin x"
The tweet has had almost 1500 retweets from people so far, many of whom say that's the exact type of reaction that they usually get from their parents, despite the fact they're adults.
One woman replied:
"When I went on holiday with my boyfriend my mum wanted pics of the room being two single beds (it was a double). I ignored her."
Someone else said:
"I think my dad has replied this exact message."
One person tagged their other half and added
" @jordantyson92 ya mam when I stayed over "I've got the spare bedroom ready for her"
Caitlin later changed her profile picture to one of her and boyfriend Dean beside the controversial double bed.
