Woman gives incredible update about 'fit' guy she met through Facebook advert

A couple who are soon going to become parents met six months ago - over a bed listing on Facebook Marketplace.

Kyla Spiers, 25, and Gary MacDonald, 27, met in February this year after she listed a super king bed frame with a mattress on the platform.

Gary responded to air stewardess Kyla's advert and offered her £150 for the frame - which she accepted.

The pair arranged for Gary to collect the bed shortly after, but neither of them were prepared for what was about to happen.

As soon as they locked eyes, Kyla said it was "love at first sight" and she fancied Gary, a Sky engineer, immediately.

However, once he'd taken the bed and gone home, she wasn't sure if she'd ever hear from him again.

She said: "I was selling my house and selling all my furniture and he came to buy a bed, we just got talking while he was there and chatted for ages then he left.

"I never thought I'd see or hear from him again. Then a while after we started messaging."

Luckily, Gary felt exactly the same way, and he plucked up the courage to get back in touch with Kyla a few weeks later.

By April, the pair were officially boyfriend and girlfriend.

And the smitten couple, from Falkirk, are now expecting a baby, due in January 2022.

On Monday, Kyla shared a photo of her original Marketplace ad on Twitter, alongside a baby scan.

She wrote: "How it started v how it's going. Love at first sight I swear."

The tweet has racked up more than 2000 likes and comments from well-wishers who have been wooed by their love story.

One Twitter user joked: "That escalated eh...Marketplace, the new Tinder."

Another made the point: "So you still didn't get rid of the bed?"

Kyla said: "I didn't realise the post was going to be so popular, my phones honestly did not stop buzzing.

"I've had to turn my notifications off. It's funny cause it looks so much worse than what everyone thinks. We never met again for weeks and weeks after it."
