A distressed woman gave birth on the streets of Dublin City Centre in the early hours of Monday morning, Gardai have confirmed.
The scared new mother went into labour on North King Street near the North Quays at around 1am.
The woman is believed to have carried her baby in the direction of Inns Quay before being picked up by an ambulance near the Four Courts.
Passers-by are said to have helped the mum at the scene who was taken to hospital and it is understood that both mother and baby are doing well.
A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí and emergency services attended to the incident on North King Street this morning at approximately 1.30am.

He added: "Due to the sensitive nature of this incident we will not be providing any further information."
Dublin Fire Brigade added: "We can confirm that a call was received at 01:26 am on 27 January for a woman in labour at Inns Quay.
"The patient was removed to hospital after successful delivery of the baby.
"To preserve the privacy of the individual, Dublin Fire Brigade will not be providing any further information in relation to this case."
