A woman gave birth on the streets of Dublin city in the early hours of Monday morning, Gardai have confirmed.
The distressed new mother went into labour on North King Street near the North Quays at around 1am.
The woman is believed to have carried her baby in the direction of Inns Quay before being picked up by an ambulance near the Four Courts, Dublin Live reports.
Passers-by are said to have helped the mum at the scene who was taken to hospital and it is understood that both mother and baby are doing well.

Gardai have sealed off the roads at North King Street and Inns Quay following the incident and are looking for witnesses who may have helped the woman.
A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí and emergency services attended to the incident on North King Street this morning at approximately 1.30am."
He added: "Due to the sensitive nature of this incident we will not be providing any further information."
