Woman gets police escort to catch flight after being reunited with passport

Just 24 hours before her flight to Croatia, a woman lost her passport in Glasgow city centre.

Desperate to be reunited with the travel document so she could fly, Joanne Shields, 37, enlisted the help of Glasgow Live to track it down.

The article was shared by kind-hearted Glaswegians who wanted to help and just in the nick of time she got the news she was waiting for.

Her passport had been found by police and then they went above and beyond to help her catch her flight from Edinburgh Airport.

They delivered it to Joanne at her home, before giving her an escort to Edinburgh Airport to ensure she made her flight.

Joanne said: "I am one lucky girl. The police found my passport because of Glasgow Live's post and they came to my house with it before giving me an escort to the airport.

"I can't thank them enough, also huge thanks to all you amazing folk for sharing my post and sending me positive vibes.

"I am definitely going to Croatia now."
