Woman gets concussion after cyclist tries robbing her near East Street

A woman was struck on the head in Bedminster during an attempted robbery, according to police.

The 55-year-old was knocked to the ground by a man on a push bike while she was walking along an alley off East Street on Saturday, August 10.

Avon and Somerset police have said the man rode up behind the woman at between 5pm-6pm. He tried to grab her bag and hit her on the head, causing her to fall.

The man made off on his bike, while the woman suffered concussion but did not need hospital treatment.
