Woman furious as mum lets child 'climb over' her after refusing to swap seats

A traveller who refused to swap her window seat with a mum has hit out after waking up with the child ‘climbing over’ her. The woman shared a viral video explaining the situation after she declined to change seats with the mum’s husband on a flight.

She said she believed the parents had allowed the child to behave badly “out of spite” and it resulted in the “most uncomfortable flight of my life", the Mirror reports.

In a viral video, shared on her @diaryofasolotraveler account on TikTok, she said: "You can always ask [to swap seats], the problem is the people who get mad when they don't get their way.

"I had a six-hour flight and I try to plan my sleep schedule on the plane so I don't end up jetlagged. I get to my row and this woman asked me, 'Do you want an aisle seat?', and I said, 'No thank you, I got the window, I want the window.'

"She was very taken aback. She was sitting with her kid and she wanted the other seat for her husband. I think out of spite this woman refused to deal with her child because of it.

"I fell asleep before we took off and when I woke up the child was climbing on top of me. I didn't know what to do! I forced myself to pass out and sit through the most uncomfortable flight of my life."

Commenters on the video were horrified on behalf of the woman, with many questioning why she didn't call over a flight attendant to resolve the situation.

One person said: "I would have told the woman to control her child or I would contact the flight attendant! I wouldn't take that at ALL!"

While another added: "If this app has taught me anything it's that people tolerate way more than I ever would."

And a third wrote: "If parents refuse to parent their child, then I will. I would have reprimanded that kid so fast."
