Many people are desperate to get a tattoo as soon as they are old enough, and spend their teenage years dreaming up the perfect design.
But like many of the decisions we made when we were younger and thought we knew it all, sometimes people end up regretting those old inkings.
One woman on Mumsnet has explained she had a "dubious lizard" tattooed on her back when she was 15, and now that she's 37 she's considering having it removed.
After her laser hair removal nurse approached her about having the ink lasered off for free, the mum wasted no time in accepting the offer and booking an appointment - but now her husband has "hit the roof" over her decision, as he claims she should have discussed it with him first.

Posting her story anonymously, the woman said: "I got a dubious lizard tattoo on my back aged 15. Rebellious stage, but luckily it's only small and easily hidden. Not many people know I have it.
"Aged 37, I've been offered free laser tattoo removal - I have had laser hair removal, and my lady that does it (a nurse) needed a tattoo model and thought of me. I've accepted and have an appointment for next week. So far so good.
"This evening, I mentioned it to my husband. He hit the roof. He says it's an important decision, and I should have discussed it with him - even though it's my body and I have it right to choose. He says I should have talked it through with him, and that he'd never change his body without consulting me."
The woman then matched her husband's anger as she insisted he has no right to tell her what she can and can't do to her own body - and put her foot down about getting the tattoo removed.
She added: "I got angry and said yes, it's my body, and I was in fact talking to him about it - I was just p***ed off as by his reaction he seems to think he's got a right to tell me what to do with my skin, which he obviously denies. He says our bodies are shared history.
"Either I just don't understand and am a lizard-tattooed heathen, or he's displaying uncomfortable signs of control that were previously hidden.
"So, am I being unreasonable to not discuss it before booking the removal? I'm having it anyway, no matter what he thinks. It's my body, and I think that's really annoying him."
In a follow-up post, the mum explained she wasn't in a relationship with her husband when she got the tattoo, and said she doesn't think he's worried about the "risk factor" because he was "happy" for her to have three C-sections to welcome their children.
She wrote: "We weren't together when I got the tattoo. We knew each other but weren't 'together' as such - that was a while after. He did always like the tattoo - although I'm shocked by how much, apparently!
"He's been happy for me to be sliced open to have three C-sections, so I can't see it being the risk factor he's worried about. I think maybe he just hates that I've not communicated my thoughts to him. Maybe I should have mentioned it in passing!"

Commenters on the post were shocked by her husband's response, as many agreed that he "has no right" to dictate what she does with her body.
One person wrote: "Your body, your decision. He has no right to say what you put on or take off your skin and it’s not really a decision you need to run past him."
While another said: "His reaction is bizarre! You are really lucky to get this for free."
And someone else commented: "Your body, your choice. End of story. It’s possible he felt you were keeping secrets from him, but even so it doesn’t matter. Your body, your choice."
