Woman 'freaked out' after capturing photo of chinless 'ghost' at scene of Ayrshire police incident

A woman is convinced she's captured a ghost lurking at the scene of a police incident in Irvine.

The arresting image shows the spectre dressed in a long black robe, hovering near a police officer.

Lisa Todd took the spooky photo on Monday, November 15 at 3.40pm outside the Bridgegate council office on High Street in Irvine town centre.

A startled Lisa said: "I was just being nosey and wanted to take a picture of what was happening with the police, but I was shocked when I looked at the photo and saw someone standing next to the police officer who wasn't there.

"I went home, and was in the house myself and started to freak myself out so I sent the picture to my mum and she agreed it was freaky.

"It was so weird, it looks like he's wearing a big black cloak on and he's floating next to the police officer."

The ghost appears to be missing his chin as he watches officers conduct their business.

Nearby where the photo was snapped is the Trinity Church.

The gothic-style Trinity church was built in 1863 for the Rev. William B Robertson, known as the ‘Poet Preacher’ on account of his lyrical sermons.

The photo appears warped, but Lisa is adamant no photo editing was carried out.

The 26-year-old added: "Everything around the ghost warped, there were no enhancements on my part.

"It was a real hair-raising moment looking up from the photo and not seeing him there."

To the skeptics, Lisa says: "I just think it's too strange for it to be anything other than a ghost.

"I don't really have any interest in the paranormal, I don't like scary stuff and was a non-believer before I took the picture.

"My partner didn't notice at fist but after looking for a minute said 'Oh crap, aye! That is a ghost."
