Woman found with gunshot wound near Chicago State

A woman was found with a gunshot wound in the 9700 block of South Dobson Avenue, June 22, 2019.

A 49-year-old woman was found with a gunshot wound to the head Saturday on the South Side blocks away from Chicago State University.

Officers found her about 1:59 a.m. outside a home in the 9700 block of South Dobson Avenue, Chicago police said.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said. There aren’t any witnesses to the shooting.

Area South detectives are investigating.
