A man arrested after a manhunt through Perth's suburbs has been charged with the murder of a 38-year-old woman at a home in Cloverdale in Perth's east.
Police and St John Ambulance were called on Wednesday night with reports a woman was being assaulted by a man who was known to her at the Hardey Road property.
Police said when paramedics arrived they were prevented from entering the house by a man who was acting aggressively.
When police got there he had already left, and a critically injured 38-year-old woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where she later died.
A major search was launched, and a man was arrested in the southern suburb of Riverdale about 4:00am yesterday.
The Homicide Squad charged a 40-year-old Carlisle man today with murder and he will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
