Woman found unconscious in Swansea city centre lane

Police officers taped off a Swansea city centre lane after finding an unconscious female.

She was discovered at 7.50am on Sunday morning in the lane off Oxford Street between the Marks & Spencer and What! Stores, formerly British Home Stores.

An ambulance was called to take her to hospital.

The scene is being preserved until she is well enough to be spoken to.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "At around 7.50am this morning police officers were called to a location near the Marks and Spencer store in central Swansea after an unconscious female was discovered.

"An ambulance was called and the female was taken to hospital.

"While there appears to be no suspicious circumstances to this incident, a scene has been preserved until the female is well enough to be spoken to."

How police investigate crime:

What happens after a crime is reported?

In an earlier report on WalesOnline regarding this incident we stated that a 54-year-old man had been found dead in the lane next to Marks & Spencer. This was incorrect and due to the wrong information being supplied by South Wales Police.

Police said they were also investigating the death of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered elsewhere in Oxford Street, in a separate incident on Saturday, May 4 at 8.40am.
