Woman found dead on M5 near Gloucester Services is named

A woman found dead on the M5 motorway in Gloucestershire has been named as an inquest into her death opened.

Judith Clinton from Abbeydale in Gloucester was last seen on October 29, reports Gloucestershire Live.

Gloucester Coroner's Court heard today (November 14) a motorist called police to say they had seen a body on the southbound carriageway shortly before 1am on October 30.

Emergency services attended the scene between junction 12 for Quedgeley and junction 11A for Brockworth.

The motorway was closed while police carried out investigation work.

The busy route was fully reopened the following afternoon.

A post-mortem examination found the precise cause of the 66-year-old's death was unascertainable.

The inquest is due to resume on February 6, 2020.
