Woman found dead in Scots home named by cops as man charged

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman in Perth and Kinross.

The 44-year-old woman has now been named by police as Michelle Lizanec of Catmoor Avenue, Scone.

A 46-year-old male was arrested following the death of Michelle after an all-day siege on a residential street Dundee.

Michelle was pronounced dead at the scene after officers from Police Scotland attended an incident on Orchard Way, Inchture at around 11.40pm on Saturday, February 13.

Cops shut down Balunie Street, in the Douglas area of Dundee, shortly before 9am until 8.50pm on Sunday as negotiators spoke to a man through a letterbox who had shut himself inside a house.

The male has now been charged in connection with Michelle's death.

He is due to appear before Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday, February 16.

Police say a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland statement read: "Around 11.40pm on Saturday, 13 February, officers attended an address on Orchard Way, Inchture and a 44-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The woman can now be named as Michelle Lizanec of Catmoor Avenue, Scone.

"A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death. He is due before Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 16 February, 2021.

"A full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
