A woman has been found dead in a Scots flat.
The 57-year-old woman 's body was discovered in a property in Trevelyan Terrace, Hawick, at around 9pm last night.
Now police have arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with the woman's death.
A major investigation has been launched into the incident after cops received reports of 'a disturbance' in the area.
Enquiries are ongoing as the man remains in police custody.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of an alleged disturbance within a flat on Trevelyan Terrace, Hawick, around 9pm on Monday, 9 August.
"A 57-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 54-year-old man was arrested.
"He remains in police custody and enquiries are ongoing."
