Woman found dead in river with another still missing following incident at Ystradfellte Falls

Police have confirmed that a body of a woman has been recovered from a waterfall near Glynneath while search efforts are ongoing for a second woman. Dyfed-Powys Police said officers first called to Ystradfellte Falls, known as the Four Waterfalls Walk in Brecon Beacons National Park, at about 11.45am on Wednesday, January 4.

Police confirmed that a search for two women has been taking place in the area since, with the body of one woman sadly recovered from the water. A spokesperson said the search for a second woman is ongoing and the families of both women have been informed.

Due to weather conditions, including high, fast flowing water, the search was called off at around 5pm on Wednesday evening, with the search for the second woman resuming on Thursday morning.
