Woman found dead in house after major emergency response

A woman was found dead after a major emergency services response at an address in Halewood .

Merseyside Police and crews from the North West Ambulance Service were called to Antons Road at 9am today following reports of concerns for the safety of a woman .

Residents told the ECHO they had heard someone was "seriously injured" at the property but the Force later confirmed the victim had died.

Forensic investigators were also working at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "We were called to a property in Halewood today, Wednesday 26th February, following reports of concern for the safety of a woman.

“Emergency crews were called to a property on Antons Road at 9am. The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage and enquiries are ongoing to trace the woman’s next of kin.”

The woman's age is not yet known.
