Authorities discovered the body of a 57-year-old woman entangled in machinery in a non-public baggage-processing area at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. Firefighters were called to the scene around 7:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a person trapped in baggage-moving machinery. The woman was found entangled in a conveyer belt system within a baggage room that was not publicly accessible.

Officials have not released the woman's identity, and it remains unclear how she gained access to the restricted area. The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Health and Safety Administration confirmed that the woman was not an airport employee.

Upon discovering the woman's body, firefighters alerted police investigators, who have since opened an investigation into the incident. The Chicago Police Department confirmed that the woman was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial reports indicated that the woman was discovered at 2:27 a.m., leading to confusion about the delayed emergency response. However, surveillance footage revealed that the woman was seen entering the baggage room at that time, with her body being found at 7:30 a.m., prompting a 911 call.

Authorities clarified that the surveillance cameras were not monitored in real-time, and investigators only reviewed the footage after the woman's body was located. The video footage captured the woman walking into the room but did not show the events leading to her entanglement in the machinery.
