A 51-year-old woman was found dead, lying against a wall at a heritage site in Ayutthaya province along with a handwritten letter to her family.

Her body was found by the caretaker at the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya historical site.

The woman was identified only as Kanyanut, aged 51, from i Sa Ket province. Her left wrist had a large wound

Inside her bag was a handwritten letter.

The letter told her family to sell her sewing machines and use the money to settle her debts, and included the names and phone numbers of vendors.

Police contacted a relative using a phone number in the letter. It was her niece. She told them her aunt had a sewing shop in Min Buri district, Bangkok. She had a kidney condition and was also experiencing financial difficulties.

An autopsy found that the woman slashed her wrist with a knife, causing bleeding and death. It was estimated she had been dead seven to eight hours when found.
