Woman found dead after police called to house in north Manchester

A woman has been found dead at a house in north Manchester.

Police were initially called to a report of a 'concern for welfare' for a woman on Routledge Walk in Harpurhey just before 10am this morning (Thursday).

The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, police said.

Enquiries are ongoing.

At least three police vehicles were pictured parked up near Routledge Walk earlier today.

Forensic officers were also pictured at the scene.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly after 10am on Thursday 25 March to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman on Routledge Walk, Manchester.

"Sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing but there aren’t believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
