ST. LOUIS _ Many children's eyes were undoubtedly shielded Wednesday night when a female fan featured on the big screen at Busch Stadium decided it was a good idea to flash the crowd.
The screens at the Cardinals-Cincinnati Reds game displayed the woman lifting her shirt and bra to the announced crowd of 40,124 at the stadium.
The flashing fan's motives are unclear, but she was promptly kicked out by security.
"The woman was ejected from the game for violating the ground rules for guests we have in place to ensure a family friendly environment here at the ballpark," Ron Watermon, vice president of communications from the Cardinals organization said in an email Thursday.
Social media soon filled with posts about the baseball flashing, with some hoping for another rally phenomenon.
But it wouldn't be so. The Cardinals lost to the Cincinnati Reds 6-0.
It's not the first time this sort of thing has happened at a Cardinals game. Many longtime fans may remember Susan Sykes, a topless dancer who went by the name "Busty Heart."
She was arrested in 1990 after Cardinals officials said she was "skipping around in a lewd manner" at a game and trying to promote a local performance. She then attempted to return to the stadium for another game, but was apprehended before she could have a repeat performance.
