A woman was fined £1,000 after police found her carrying out beauty treatments in her house.
Officers were called to the home in Warrington, at around 5pm on Thursday, after reports she was operating a beauty business despite the ongoing lockdown.
When police got to the property they found the woman carrying out treatments on a client inside.
She was asked to stop and officers encouraged her and the client to "do the right thing" and stop flouting the rules.
But they have said they were left with no choice but to fine her when she refused to stop the treatments.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "Officers attended an address in the Warrington area on Thursday, November 12 following reports that a woman was operating a beauty business from her home.
"Under the new lockdown regulations all beauty businesses must close until Wednesday, December 2 when the government will review the restrictions.
"A patrol car attended at around 5pm and found the woman performing a beauty treatment on a client.
"Officers engaged with the woman, explained the regulations and encouraged her and the client to do the right thing, but they continued.
"Because of the blatant breach they had no choice but to issue a fixed penalty notice to the woman and her client.
"We never want to do this, but this was the only way in which we could continue to keep the public safe and reduce the spread of the virus."

Earlier this month the Prime Minister announced that beauty businesses, gyms, pubs, restaurants, and non-essential shops would have to close during the second lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
On Facebook, officers said: "We know that you have all made sacrifices this year and that the majority of you are sticking to the rules.
"It's a shame that there is still a small minority flouting them.
"Now more than ever we need to stick to the rules and reduce the spread of coronavirus."
