Woman finds suspicious gas station bathroom mirror aimed right at the toilet. Her next discovery only makes it worse

A woman thought she found a two-way mirror in a gas station bathroom that was pointed right at the toilet. Her worry turned out to be wrong, but the video went viral and got people talking about how to find hidden cameras in public bathrooms.

According to Motor1, Alexandria Eliza, who uses the name @_alexandriaeliza on TikTok, posted a video last week that scared millions of people. She went to a women’s restroom and saw something strange: two mirrors on the wall right across from the toilet. This odd setup made her feel uncomfortable right away.

In the video, she showed one mirror and then moved to show a second one nearby. Neither mirror was at eye level or facing the sink, where mirrors usually are. Instead, both seemed to be aimed at the toilet stall. “One-way mirror at gas station pointed only at toilet??” she wrote in the video.

The unsettling mirror placement raised serious privacy concerns

Eliza explained that this was a “random third mirror” in the room that wasn’t even at eye level. She got more worried when she noticed a staff-only room right next to the wall where the mirror was placed. She did a quick test by checking the space between her finger and its reflection, and she felt an “obvious difference.”

“I checked the spacing thing and there was an obvious difference,” she wrote. “Idk call me crazy but it was scary to think it could be one way!!” Luckily, the situation wasn’t as bad as it looked. In another video, Eliza tried to pull the mirror off the wall. She found only tile behind it, which proved it wasn’t a two-way mirror.

This mirror was confusing me bc it’s a random third mirror in the woman’s bathroom pointed directly at the toilet, not even eye level. I checked the spacing thing and there was an obvious difference. And you can see there’s a staff only room directly next to it. Idk call me crazy but it was scary to think it could be one way!! #mirror #blackmirror #onewaymirror #creepy #trending

Even though Eliza proved the mirror was safe, the video got 22.2 million views. The incident showed that many people worry about privacy in public bathrooms. Public restroom incidents have become increasingly common on social media, with people sharing their awkward bathroom encounters that go viral. You can’t just rip mirrors off walls when you feel suspicious, so it’s important to know how to check for two-way glass properly.

The fastest way to check is the fingernail test. Press your fingernail against the mirror and look at the point where they meet. If you see a small gap between your nail and its reflection, it’s a normal mirror. If your nail seems to touch its reflection directly, it could be a two-way mirror. Two-way mirrors have the reflective coating on the front, which removes that tiny gap.

A better method is the flashlight test. Turn off the lights to make the room dark, then shine a bright flashlight directly on the mirror. A normal mirror will bounce the light back at you. If the light goes through the glass and you can see space or movement on the other side, leave right away.

Bathroom privacy has been a hot topic lately, with politicians even discussing public restroom controversies in the news. You can also try the tap test. A regular mirror should sound solid when you tap it. If it sounds hollow, there might be a space behind it.
