Woman finds 'satisfying' £20 hack for cleaning grout after being quoted £300 for pro job

Getting rid of stains on kitchen or bathroom grout is one of the toughest cleaning jobs around, as the brown or black grime is super stubborn to lift away. Not only that but if left for a long time it can even start to dry and build up, which just makes getting your tiles sparkling again all the more tricky.

On top of that, it can be a pretty expensive job if you get someone out to do it for you. One TikTok user decided against paying the whopping £300 she had been quoted to get someone out to clean grout and came up with her own solution, and the results are phenomenal.

TikTok user @the_dust_busters shares regular clips about keeping her home clean and tidy.

In a recent clip, she began by saying: "I was quoted £320 to deep clean my grout."

She then went onto show that she had bought two products to do the job herself and only set herself back about £20.

For the job, she picked up a power drill brush which can be picked up off Amazon for around £18 and has different pieces for all those different surfaces.

And for the cleaning fluid, the TikToker used some toilet bowl vleaner bleach which set her back around £1.

So she has made a huge saving on being quoted over £300 in the first place.

She said: "Just mopping was not cutting it. Watch as it erases all the stains. So satisfying."

At the end of the clip, she showed the incredible before and after results showing the once-grimy grout looking sparkling as new.

In response, many were keen to try these out for themselves as one person wrote: "Ok, but I need to know about this drill attachment."

While another stated: "Dang! Wish I knew this when I was in high school. My mum would give us a toothbrush."

Another person recommended a different product which also works well, as they said: "The Pink Stuff paste works wonders on my grout."
