Woman finds husband missing for three years on TikTok app then learns he is dating transgender woman

An Indian woman whose husband went missing three years ago spotted him on the TikTok app and discovered he was in a relationship with a transgender woman.

The man, Suresh, left the house he shared with his wife and two children in 2016, according to the New India Express.

His wife filed a missing person's report with the police, who were unable to find him.

However, after three years, a relative of the woman saw a video on TikTok which featured Suresh with the transgender woman.

The woman confirmed the man in the video was her husband and alerted the police.

The police tracked Suresh to the city of Hosur with the help of the local transgender community in Villupuram, where his wife lives.

They said the police had "counselled" the couple and "sent them back home" together.

TikTok is hugely popular in India with roughly 120 million users.

The video-sharing app was banned in India in April over concerns it was being used to share pornography.

However, the ban was overturned a week later following an appeal by its Chinese developers.
