The body of a woman who was shown live on Facebook jumping off the Rama VII bridge in Bangkok was found in the Chao Phraya River on Thursday, two days after she apparently committed suicide.
Marine police and volunteer divers found the body of Nittaya Sawasdiwan, 18, floating in the river about 500 metres south of the bridge.
The Metropolitan Police Bureau deputy police chief said the clothing and identity of the dead woman matched those of the woman seen in a video live-streamed on Facebook early on Tuesday morning.
The body was sent to Siriraj Hospital for confirmation and post-mortem examination, he said.
The video was shot by taxi motorcycle driver Pataradanai Noomsrinart. Nittaya paid him an additional 500 baht to take it after he took her from the Lat Phrao area to the bridge about 2am on Tuesday. He told police he did not know she intended to jump and believed he was shooting an early morning "atmosphere scene" on the bridge.
The driver was questioned by police on Wednesday.
