But the brave woman managed to fight him off and flee the flat, with CCTV capturing her running down a flight of stairs.

Once out in the street, the woman, who is in her 40s, screamed for help while her attacker escaped in a waiting vehicle.

Police confirmed they were investigating the aggravated burglary, which happened at around 4.50pm on Monday, October 26.

They said the man attempted to restrain the female occupier before stealing three mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

He then left the flat in the direction of Sheil Road in a waiting vehicle.

The woman was not seriously hurt during the incident but was reported to be left shaken by her ordeal.
