Woman fighting for life in hospital after motorcycle crash in Stirling

A woman is fighting for he life in hospital after crashing her motorcycle in a Stirling.

The horror smash happened yesterday at around 4.45pm at a busy roundabout.

The 57 year-old woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital were she remains in critical condition.

She had been riding her Yamaha Virago motorbike on Pirnhall Stirling Services when she appears to have lost control and left the roadway near the junction for A872.

She has been left with serious injuries sparking a frantic police appeal as they investigate the crash.

Emergency services attended and the injured woman was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she is being treated for her serious injuries.

Hospital staff describe her condition as critical.

Sergeant David Marr from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Stirling said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of this crash and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward.

“This is a very busy roundabout next to the local motorway services, and I am urging any witnesses or anyone who was driving there around the time of the crash who has dash-cam footage to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Stirling Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 2787 of 30 August.
