A woman is fighting for life after being hit by a bus while crossing the road.
Emergency services were called to Seaforth Road, at the junction of Church Road in Seaforth, shortly be 6pm to reports of a crash between a pedestrian and a bus.
The woman was quickly rushed to hospital in an ambulance and is reportedly fighting for her life as police put road closures in place at the scene.
Officers are currently still at the busy junction where the crash happened and the bus driver stopped at the scene to help police with their investigation.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO: "We can confirm that emergency services are in Seaforth following a serious RTC this evening, Tuesday 18 February.
"At 5.50pm, we were called to reports of a collision between a bus and a female pedestrian at the junction of Church Road and Seaforth Road.
"The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to hospital in a critical condition. The bus driver stopped to assist with enquiries.
"Officers remain on the scene to carry out an initial investigation and a road closure is in place in both directions. Please avoid the area if possible.
